From Drifting to Deciding: How I Found My Path (and Help Others Do the Same)
Have you ever found yourself just drifting through life?
Saying yes to things because that’s what everyone else is doing? Going to university because your friends did? Choosing a career because it felt like the obvious or expected choice? Or getting swept along in relationships or life milestones because it seemed like “the right time”?
You’re not alone.
In my younger years, I made a series of decisions that—truthfully—I didn’t think too hard about. I slipped into jobs without much reflection, following paths that were easy or available, but not necessarily aligned with me. I was going with the flow, living reactively rather than intentionally.
And while that drifting got me somewhere, it didn’t get me where I truly wanted to be.
What changed?
I started meeting myself with curiosity. I paused long enough to ask:
What do I really want? What excites me? What matters to me—not to my parents, my friends, or society, but to me?
Those moments of reflection became turning points. The more I tuned into my own values, strengths, and desires, the more intentional my choices became. And that’s what led me to the work I do now.
As a coach, I support people in exactly this space—the shift from drifting to deciding. I help my clients slow down, get curious, and reflect on what they want, so they can make conscious choices about their careers, relationships, and life direction.
It’s not about having all the answers overnight. It’s about making space for your own voice to be heard.
I still build in these moments of pause and reflection in my own life. Because the pull to drift can show up again and again—but so can the power to choose.
If any part of this resonates with you—if you’re ready to stop following someone else’s path, or simply pause and reflect on what truly matters to you—I invite you to book a free chemistry call. It’s a safe, supportive space to begin that conversation and explore what your own path could look like.
Let’s explore where you want to go.
